The family and I went to Cedar City a few weeks ago for a family reunion. It was for Lew's dad's side of the family. The actual festivities began on Monday afternoon, but we left on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday night we went to Margot's hotel (Lew's sister) for a dip in the pool. Our pool was ice cold. After about 10 minutes in our pool, we had to call it quits because no one was daring to go in more than waist deep. Margot's pool was a lot warmer and a lot of fun to play with her kids. Margot and her husband, Brandon, told us about a few places that they explored so we decided to find a few of them in the morning. I have not really been to southern Utah very much. Wow! It is beautiful there! I had not imagined how pretty the desert can be?! We went to Cascade Falls. There was a really cool tree there. Look at how pretty the twisted branches are.
The views are fantastic. Here is a horrible picture of the family...

Cedar
We went for a hike and made leather bracelets. That night we ate dinner and then had a surprise birthday party for Larry (Lew's dad). He turned 60 and we had a roast for him. It was great hearing all the funny stories from his 4 brothers and 1 sister. Each of his kids and their spouses also shared stories about Larry. Larry is a fun father-in-law with a great sense of humor. I'm glad that we were able to go to Cedar City for his party. It was a fun, but short trip. After the party we drove back home so Lewis could go to work the next morning.
This is a shot of Lew's family that could make the trip. Oh, I love summer!!!
