Cheerio!

We're moving.
Our house sold, so I've been packing and not blogging.
Wow.
I must have been moving since November.


Ruby and Zane both said something funny. And my mind is forgetful. So I'm blogging it before I forget it.

Ruby and Zane watch cartoons in the morning while eating breakfast. Zane has a tv in his room. I know that is bad, but our house is small, therefore the moving. Anyways, they always fight over where they lay because there is a good spot to claim. Zane had the good spot and Ruby asked if she could lay her pillow on his legs? Zane said, "Yes. Because I love it when you lay on my legs. Because I love you Roob. And your funny all day. Thumbs up!" Zane throws in an "all day" with everything. He slept really well- Mom I want to sleep all day. If he eats a juicy pear- I want to eat that pear, all day. I want to kiss Dewie, all day.

The other night I had activity days for church. This is a one hour activity, twice a month for girls in the ward that are ages 8 to 12. I think it is getting them ready for young women. Ruby and Zane love to go with me. I had to take them with me because Lew was always in school. Now I just take them, because they like it so much. Ruby thinks it's great to watch the older girls. I don't think she gets the message that is being taught. Okay, neither does the 8 to 12 year olds. But last week, Ruby asked what we were learning about. I told her prophets. She thought about it for a few seconds and said, "Oh, our prophet parts?" (thinking private parts). Ummm, no.

Corned beef and cabbage

Ruby had an assignment at school to build a Leprechaun trap. They could build it how ever they wanted, with help from their parents. Papa Lew stepped up and built a glass trap.

The little Leprechaun can climb up the ladder to get the gold. When he gets on top, it will tilt and he will fall in! Ya ha ha!!!

Ruby put Lucky Charms in the bottom, so if he gets hungry. There is a picture of another Leprechaun, so he won't get lonely. She added a little couch so he could rest. What a sweetheart. While Ruby was at lunch, a leprechaun came in and gave her some chocolate gold! Aye me maties! Oh, wait that's a pirate.

Ahhh Baby!

Last Friday was the big day! Linkin Park Concert !!!!!!
This post may be super long, but I have to remember all the spectacular details for myself.
We had a showing earlier in the day. No luck. They didn't want to buy our house.
My mom picked up the kids and I was on my way. I met Lew, Joey and Kristy at Lew's work and we walked to Gateway. We ate at Z' Tejas. It was pretty good. They have a very delish corn bread. Then we went to Kodiak Cakes. Since I didn't make cookies we stopped there for some. Holy Cow. I got a sugar cookie. It was so very good. It was really thick. It had a crispy outside, but the inside was so chewie and wonderful. Oh man. I need to figure out the trick on how they made them so good. Lew is not a sugar cookie fan, and he said these were the best he has ever tasted. We also tried a white chocolate, macadamia cookie. That was also a pleasure to eat.

We then walked over to the Energy Solutions Arena. We bought the tickets with the Flash thingy. So we didn't have tickets mailed to us, we just swipe our debit card and then they print out there. Problem. The hand held computer just printed 2 instead of 4. We then had to go to another line to get that fixed. No problem, all is well. We got into the next line. Now the funny thing that I noticed, is that most of the ticket takers are elderly. Not "older". I'm talking elderly. The lady that told us where our seats were at had to be in the upper 90's. They were all very, very sweet. I think that some day, when I'm old, I'll skip a mission with my Sweet Lew and we will just rock out at the Energy Solutions arena (Delta Center sounds so much better). Back to the line. The gentleman's name tag said Harvey P. Lew had a confused look on his face and said that he knew him from some where. He asked Harvey his last name.... didn't help. Asked Harvey his wife's name....Yep. It turns out that Harvey is married to Annette. Annette is the sister to Mary, and that's Lew's Grandma! Now it was good 'ole Harvey and he wanted to chat it up. He asked us all kinds of questions, how the family is, where are we living, all that good stuff. There was a large line behind us, but he was enjoying it. What a coincidence!

After the cute wig wearing granny directed us to our seats the opening band began. It was Prodigy. Prodigy is from the 90's, maybe 80's. To put it nicely, they had their 15 minutes of fame, move on people.

On to the show! I love being at Linkin Park concerts. The energy there is just so exciting. The anticipation was just killing us. We had a bet on what song they were going to play first. Lew won. They played Faint. That is a great song. It's one of my favorites. For about 8 years now I've wanted to buy a fast mini cooper and drive it listening to that song. Oh, it would be so fun!
They also played, What I've done (aka. Transformers song). I remember when this song first came out that I thought it would fit perfectly with my version of Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyer. I was wrong. There are a lot of songs by Linkin Park that go well with certain Twilight Series books.
Some of the other songs that they played were Bleed it out, Waiting for the End, Blackout, Iridescent, The Catalyst, Given Up, No More Sorrow, Lying From You, Figure 09, Numb (awesome in concert. one of the best songs), One Step Closer (this is the one where Chester yells Shut-up a bunch of times in the end. Wow. That is a great one. The crowd, including Lew and I, love that one). My ultimate favorite was When They Come for Me. They had Chester and another guy, that I don't know his name, playing on bongo's or something. And then the guitarist used a bull horn for some of the lyrics. It even makes their cd's more fun to listen to because you can picture how awesome it was in your head.
The show lasted 1 hour and a half. And I wanted more. So much more. I was sweating from all the singing and dancing. It was so fun. They played new songs and crowd favorites. My throat hurt so bad after from all the yelling. Lew's calf muscles hurt for a few days. I don't think we can go to any other concerts, because they will all be a disappointment compared to this. The only thing that I didn't like was that the Energy Solutions arena employees would not let anyone mosh. I'm sure it was for safety reasons, but it was a buzz kill. There were just a few crowd surfers, and they were escorted out. Lew and I have been thrown out of a concert before, but that was because Lew was fighting a security guard (that's a whole other story).
The next day Ruby was asking us how we liked it. Lew officially declared his love for Chester. I have love for Chester and Mike. I just love Linkin Park. They have songs that are perfect for any situation. I remember when I was doing the Tour de St. George, and I was listening to my ipod. So many times they just pumped me up to keep going. Music is really powerful and can change my mood so fast. I love running or any kind of exercise when I am listening to them.
Lew and I have been a little sad the past few days because we are afraid it will be another 3 years until we see them in person again. If we didn't have kids, we would have done a road trip the next day to see them in Colorado. And then Arizona. And then Texas...
