Sweet Lew's senior project!

My Sweet Lew is going to be graduating soon! Ahhhh... We are breathing a great sigh of relief in our home. One final, and the boy will be done! Mechanical engineering students have to do a senior project. This project has been in the works for about two years. There was a lot of blood, sweat, cuss words, rootbeers, Mt. Dews, tears, injuries, cutting, welding, grinding, cutting, welding, redo that, scavenge for parts (bike tire from Florence (my bike) was even on there for a time), design, redesign, professor wants 18 gears added, more cuss words, and a huge SUCCESS!!!! On Tuesday, April 20th the U had Design day. This was the time for the students to show off their projects. Lew said it is just a bunch of nerds sitting around. ha! Below is my Sweet Lew on the paracycle. The projects were amazing! Lewis's team did a fantastic job. The professor liked it so much that he is going to have next year's seniors work on it as well. What a compliment. In another area some of the first year engineers had their robots on display. They had to build a robot to drive on a track and shoot a mini ball into the hoop. When Lew was in there he built a chariot. Maybe Lew has some kind of transportation career in the future? Lew has been waiting 8 years for this. Can you tell he is a little excited?

Lew took us on a little tour of the buildings. There is a hallway that runs under the buildings. He calls it The Tunnel and the kids had to run through the secret passageway.

Lew has had some great supporters during his school career. This was a good day for them to come and check out his hard work. Thanks for coming Mom, Cassi, Baylee, Deegan, Larry, Jo, Andrew, and Raney. We sure love you all. This is Grandma Larry taking a whirl. (Yes, I meant to put grandma. That's Zane's term of endearment).

This senior project is a moon buggy. Universities all over the country make these things and compete. The U's team took second place!

This is a picture of Brandon and Lew. Brandon has been a great friend with Lew. They have known each other through out their higher education career. They make a great team in passing all of their classes together. Every Sunday they were together TCB (takin' care of business). That's nice and all, but your wives would like to see you now.
