Bye Bye "U"

My Sweet Lew did it! He has officially graduated from the U!
Lew started at SLCC in 2003. As with any degree, there were the waste of time classes, weight lifting, film studies (that was actually fun, we watched a lot of cool movies), basketball, humanities, and middle eastern geography (okay, I took that one for him).
Lew worked full time the entire time he was in school.

Lew had many health problems, but he never wanted to stop school. He finished school to make life better for his family.

Lew put little motivational stickers on his computer. Some of the sayings were- "It's not about what you want to do, it's what you have to do." "An investment in education pays the highest interest." "You create the results you believe" "Knowing is better than wondering"- Ben Franklin, "Good Timber doesn't grow with ease. The Stronger the wind, the stronger the trees." "Live and Learn, at least we lived" - Jerry Seinfeld "Moment across the lips, lifetime upon the hips"- oh wait, that was my motivational quote. "Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid of standing still".

This picture was taken at the beginning of Lew's school career. Ruby was about 6 months. Isn't it such a sweet little picture? It is one of my favorites of them together.

I'm so very proud of Lewis. So many obstacles and he continued on. He is now a scientist. Our kids will someday understand all that he has worked for, and look up to him. He has been and always will be my personal hero. It's a weird feeling having him done with school. We have had our life on hold for so long. After we get the student loans paid off, we can start looking forward to new adventures. This is a new chapter in our lives together and there is no one else I would rather be with.
